The making of a GIF

January 17, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

Last week while covering the Red Wing vs. John Marshall boys basketball game, I was lucky enough to be in the right place to capture a pretty nice dunk by Red Wing's Travis Toivonen in the first half. I didn't just get one clear shot, my focus was locked on for six.

When I was done working on all my photos from the game and uploaded them to where they need to go I wanted to try and make a GIF of the photo series I had of the dunk. It's not something that's overly useful for the Post-Bulletin website or print (obviously) but rather something different. I had the photos so why not find a way to use them?

A quick Google search brought me to http://gifmaker.me/ and all I had to do was upload the photos, choose the timing and it made itself.

It was incredibly easy and a fun item to share on social media. I will look for other opportunities to create these while on assignment.
